Hi, I'm Payton Fournier
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering - Louisiana State University
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering - Louisiana State University
My strengths include:
Designed waste heat steam generators to improve refinery energy efficiency, analyzing ROI and safety hazards.
Applied Aspen Plus simulation, data reconciliation, and control analysis to optimize reflux operation and improve energy performance of a packed distillation column separating a water–propylene glycol mixture.
I interned at a chemical engineering consulting firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for two years.
Performed engine emission calculations to determine compliance with state and federal emission standards.
Developed an excess emissions report. Cross-referenced the active Title V permit, citing relevant regulations and comparing emission limits to pinpoint compliance issues.
Drafted sections of the permit application and assisted in calculating emissions to determine compliance.

Collaborated with peers on technical discussions and outreach activities promoting innovation and leadership in chemical engineering.
In May–June 2025, I joined LeadAbroad’s global leadership and service-learning program designed to strengthen self-awareness, teamwork, and adaptability. Immersed in new cultures and environments, I explored leadership through experiential learning, service, and reflection—developing communication and problem-solving skills that now guide my approach to engineering challenges.
During the program, I collaborated with Emphasis, a local nonprofit organization, to design and assemble disaster relief bags tailored to various natural disasters:
Worked in a multidisciplinary team to brainstorm, organize, and deliver functional, accessible designs for affected communities.
Applied engineering problem-solving principles to meet real-world constraints while integrating feedback from local partners.
Participated in leadership seminars, CliftonStrengths® assessments, and values-based workshops that enhanced my interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Immersed in Greek and Italian cultures, gaining adaptability and cross-cultural communication experience through hands-on learning and teamwork.
The project successfully delivered disaster relief kits praised for their practicality and empathy-driven design. Through this experience, I strengthened my abilities in team leadership, cross-cultural collaboration, and human-centered design, learning how to merge technical thinking with compassion to create impactful solutions in diverse global settings.
